Busworld Asia 2009 - trade show success despite economic crisis

Busworld Asia is the most important trade show for the Chinese omnibus industry.

In comparison with 2008, the exhibition area was smaller and two important bus manufacturers were not among the exhibitors. Nevertheless, despite the global economic crisis which has now affected China in the meantime, the halls of the New International Expo Center with 180 exhibitors enjoyed very good attendance with 8,000 visitors.

Notwithstanding the decline in sales of up to 35% particularly in the area of bus air conditioning, the Chinese omnibus manufacturers assume that the crisis will be overcome by the end of the third quarter of 2009.

Strong demand in the area of railway air conditioning was registered as an expansion of the railway network is being planned.
